Kirill Deljanin
Kirill Deljanin started flamenco at the age of nine with Oscar Nieto and soon after began taking private lessons with Kasandra “La China.” Drawn to flamenco’s intricate compás (rhythmic structure), he was captivated by its emotional intensity and storytelling power. Known for his quick footwork and commanding stage presence, Kirill approaches flamenco as both a personal and artistic journey. He has performed at the Flamenco Festival in Albuquerque, the Victoria Flamenco Festival, and the Vancouver International Flamenco Festival. His training spans Canada, the United States, and Spain, where he has studied with renowned dancers and teachers. A multi-year recipient of the BC Arts Council Scholarship for Dance, Kirill continues to pursue an art form that demands not only precision, but also heart, and an unrelenting drive for authenticity.
